Krishna Karuturi
Investigator
Dr. Karuturi directs Sutter Health’s Research Data & Analytics team. He is also an investigator at the Sutter Health Center for Health Systems Research (CHSR).
His team participates in all phases of research and education at Sutter Health. Specifically, Dr. Karuturi’s team builds and maintains healthcare research databases, and provides data engineering and statistical analysis capabilities for health systems research and graduate medical education at Sutter Health.
Dr. Karuturi conducts research in data science and the application of machine learning and artificial intelligence (AI) in precision medicine, healthcare quality and equity. He collaborates with diverse teams of clinicians, data scientists and health systems researchers across Sutter Health.
Dr. Karuturi received a PhD in Computer Science (Machine Learning and NLP) and a ME in Systems Science & Automation from the Indian Institute of Science. He has more than 20 years’ experience in data science research and research program development.
He co-authored more than 80 peer-reviewed and invited manuscripts in data science, life sciences and data science organization development with h-index of 33 and i10-index of 52. Dr. Karuturi has mentored PhD students, post-doctoral fellows, data scientists and scientific software engineers.
