Lewis Z Leng, MD, FAANS is a board-certified neurosurgeon specializing in neuro-oncology and minimally invasive skull base surgery at Sutter Health in Northern California. He serves as Chair of Neurosciences at California Pacific Medical Center and Chair of Neurosurgery at Alta Bates Summit Medical Center. Dr. Leng is also Medical Director of the Neuro-Oncology Program of Distinction for Sutter Health and Co-Director of Endoscopic Skull Base and Pituitary Surgery.

He earned his MD from the University of Pennsylvania Perelman School of Medicine and completed his neurosurgery residency and fellowship training at Weill Cornell Medical Center and Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. Dr. Leng is a Clinical Assistant Professor of Neurology at Dartmouth’s Geisel School of Medicine.

His clinical and research interests focus on brain and skull base tumors, advanced surgical techniques, and neuro-oncology innovation. He has authored numerous peer-reviewed publications and is fluent in Mandarin.
