Matthew D. Alexander

Matthew D. Alexander, M.D. is a NeuroInterventional Radiologist serving as Adjunct Assistant Professor of Neurosurgery at the University of Utah and Director of NeuroInterventional Research at Sutter Valley Medical Foundation. He is also an attending NeuroInterventional Radiologist with Sutter Medical Group and a Volunteer Assistant Professor of Radiology at UCSF. Dr. Alexander earned his medical degree from Columbia University and completed advanced training in Diagnostic Neuroradiology at the University of Washington and NeuroInterventional Surgery at UCSF.
Board‑certified with subspecialty qualifications in Neuroradiology and CNS Endovascular Surgery, he has authored over 80 peer‑reviewed publications and multiple book chapters spanning stroke intervention, vessel wall MRI, cerebrovascular imaging, and minimally invasive neurovascular therapy. He is an associate editor for leading radiology journals and an active reviewer across numerous scientific publications. Dr. Alexander is also a dedicated mentor to trainees at multiple levels and contributes extensively to national and international neurointerventional society initiatives.
