Michele W. Tang, MD is an infectious diseases specialist and HIV physician at Alta Bates Summit Medical Center, where she serves as Co-Medical Director of East Bay Advanced Care. She is board certified in Internal Medicine and Infectious Diseases and has extensive experience caring for patients with complex medical and psychosocial needs. Dr. Tang earned her MD from Washington University in St. Louis and completed her residency in primary care internal medicine at the University of California, San Francisco, followed by fellowship training in Infectious Diseases at Stanford University.
Her clinical and research focus includes HIV care, infectious diseases, and global health. She has led and contributed to major clinical trials and federally funded programs focused on HIV prevention and treatment. Dr. Tang has also worked internationally with the Clinton HIV/AIDS Initiative and global partners to strengthen HIV care systems in China. She is widely published in peer-reviewed journals and is fluent in Mandarin.
