Pedro J. Ruiz, MD, PhD is a board-certified rheumatologist and physician-scientist with extensive expertise in autoimmune diseases, immunology, and translational research. He currently serves as Chief of the Division of Rheumatology at California Pacific Medical Center in San Francisco and is affiliated with Pacific Rheumatology Associates
Dr. Ruiz completed postdoctoral fellowships in rheumatology at the University of California, San Diego, and in neurology and immunology at Stanford University and the Weizmann Institute of Science.
His research focuses on immune modulation, autoimmune disease mechanisms, and therapeutic development, with numerous peer-reviewed publications and patents in these areas.
In addition to his clinical and research work, Dr. Ruiz has contributed as an instructor, consultant, and member of multiple professional organizations, including the American College of Rheumatology.
