Ricky T. Tong, MD, PhD, is an interventional radiologist, Co-director of Interventional Radiology and Co-director of the Non-invasive Vascular Ultrasound Lab at Sutter’s California Pacific Medical Center (CPMC).
Dr. Tong studies interventional oncology and performs Y90 radioembolization, chemoembolization and percutaneous ablation routinely. He also performs other interventional procedures such as kyphoplasty, uterine artery embolization, fistulogram, prostate artery embolization, port placement, biopsy and thrombolysis.
He participates in cancer clinical trials and has authored numerous publications in these areas.
Dr. Tong earned his PhD at Harvard-MIT Division of Health Sciences and Technology and received his MD from Stanford University School of Medicine. He completed an internship in preliminary medicine at CPMC, a radiology residency at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) and a fellowship in interventional radiology at UCSF. He has performed research studies throughout his training and at CPMC.
