Robert Osorio

Dr. Osorio specializes in liver transplants and hepatobiliary and pancreas surgery. He is board certified in general surgery. As Chairman of the Department of Transplantation and Surgical Director of the Liver Disease and Liver Transplant Program at CPMC, Dr. Osorio treats patients with liver disease and liver cancer. In collaboration with other CPMC experts at the liver disease program, his efforts help lead the program toward a combined treatment goal of surgeries for over 700 liver patients annually.His research interests include artificial liver support systems, management of biliary leaks, orthotopic liver transplantation for end-stage liver disease, and the immune response after transplantation. Dr. Osorio presents nationally and internationally on challenges and advances in liver disease and liver transplantation.
