Steven Sun, MD, is a surgical oncologist at California Pacific Medical Center within Sutter West Bay Medical Group. He completed his Doctor of Medicine at the University of Michigan Medical School, followed by general surgery residency and a Master of Medical Sciences at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center. He then pursued fellowship training in complex general surgical oncology at City of Hope National Medical Center.
Dr. Sun’s clinical and research interests focus on surgical oncology and immunotherapy, with an emphasis on melanoma and tumor immunology. His work has contributed to advances in understanding immune checkpoint blockade and the role of myeloid-derived suppressor cells in cancer.
He has received numerous honors for teaching, research, and clinical excellence, and has authored a wide range of peer-reviewed publications and presentations in oncology and surgery.
