A clinical neuropsychologist, Dr. Woolley-Levine’s primary research focus is the cognitive and behavioral screening of amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) patients. She developed the only empirically validated cognitive screen for ALS (ALS CBS™), used to detect frontotemporal dementia. Dr. Woolley-Levine co-authored the practice parameters for the treatment of ALS, and the consensus criteria for the diagnosis of frontotemporal cognitive and behavioral syndromes in ALS. She has collaborated with the SFVA in neuroimaging studies, and has consulted on other studies in hepatic encephalopathy and Alzheimer’s disease.
