Ying Cao, M.D., Ph.D.

Ying Cao, MD, PhD is a board-certified medical oncologist and hematologist currently practicing with Sutter Medical Group of the Redwoods in Santa Rosa, California. She has extensive clinical experience, with prior practice at Valley Medical Oncology Consultants in Los Gatos. Dr. Cao completed her medical oncology fellowship at Baylor University Medical Center and her internal medicine residency through the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center.
Dr. Cao earned her PhD in Cancer Biology from The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center and her MD from Nanjing Medical University. Her research background includes work in tumor biology, vasculogenesis, and osteosarcoma, with multiple peer-reviewed publications and national conference presentations. She is an active member of the American Society of Clinical Oncology and the American Society of Hematology, and serves on the cancer committee at Sutter Santa Rosa Regional Hospital.
