The Hospice Bereavement Program at Sutter Care at Home offers individual and group support to those who have experienced the death of a loved one. All services are offered at no fee. Donations are appreciated.
Individual Grief Counseling
One-on-one counseling sessions are available for hospice family members and members of the community who are grieving the death of a loved one. Bereavement counseling is provided by licensed marriage and family therapists at our office at Fisherman’s Wharf.

Grief Support Groups
Spousal and Partner Loss Group
Connect with others who are going through a similar loss. Support one another as you grieve and learn to tackle life without your loved one. Participants may join at any time.
First and third Tuesdays of each month from 3:30 pm – 5:00 pm
Same-Sex Spousal/Partner Loss Support Group
This is an opportunity for those who are grieving the loss of a same-sex spouse or partner to share and support each other in a non-judgmental and compassionate environment.
Mondays from 5:30 pm – 7:00 pm
General Loss Grief Group
This ongoing drop-in support group is for anybody who has lost a loved one and is looking for support and resources to help navigate the complexity of feelings and emotions that coincide with grief.
We meet the 1st and 3rd Monday of each month from 3:30 pm – 5:00 pm.
*An initial intake is required before attending first meeting.
