Healthy Young Minds Program
If your child has new mental health concerns that aren’t already being treated by a behavioral health professional, ask your primary care provider about the Healthy Young Minds (HYM) program in the Bay Area.

Why Choose Sutter?
Care for your child's mental health should be as natural as care for scrapes and bruises. If you have concerns about your child's mental health, ask your primary care provider about pediatric behavioral health. Healthy Young Minds provides behavioral health assessments and therapeutic interventions with a psychotherapist for a few visits, either in person or by video. These specialists work within most pediatricians' offices to provide care.
We use the well-established Collaborative Case Management team model, which pairs you with a dedicated care manager. The case manager coordinates services with your pediatrician and a psychiatric consultant if needed.
The program is not meant to provide therapy and isn't intended for urgent psychological issues or crises. If you or your child is having a mental health crisis, call 988 or visit the nearest emergency room. After your primary care provider makes a referral to HYM, you’ll receive a call from a HYM team member to review insurance benefits, set your first appointment and answer any questions.
