Last year, donor support towards radiology played a vital role in enhancing diagnostic capabilities and improving patient care in the field of medical imaging.

Here are a few of the notable investments that were made last year in the field of Radiology:

Portable X-Ray

At Memorial Medical Center, donors helped to fund a new portable X-ray that decreases critical waiting times for machine availability and provides better technology than our current equipment.

Venue Ultrasound Machine and “DEXA” Bone Densitometry Equipment

At Sutter Tracy Community Hospital, donor support allowed for the purchase of a new ultrasound machine and bone density measuring equipment. The new ultrasound machine provides enhanced imaging capabilities and improves patient outcomes, while the “DEXA” equipment allows us to assess bone health with precision and develop personalized treatment plans.

Orthopedic Ultrasound Machine

At Sutter Medical Foundation, invaluable contributions from our donors have allowed us to acquire this state-of-the-art Orthopedic Ultrasound machine that significantly enhances our diagnostic capabilities, allowing our skilled orthopedic specialists to accurately assess and diagnose musculoskeletal conditions with exceptional precision.

These enhancements will go on to directly impact patients like 15-year-old Evan, a piano prodigy who, out of nowhere, forgot how to play the piano entirely. Timely brain imaging conducted at Sutter Medical Center, Sacramento, allowed Evan’s physician to diagnose him with a rare virus that can cause encephalitis, a life-threatening inflammation of the brain.

Thanks to everyone’s quick action, Evan did indeed do well. Within days of observation and anti-viral treatments, his outgoing personality began to reemerge. He even displayed his piano talents when, after eight days of being in isolation in the pediatric intensive care unit, the hospital’s music therapy team got him a portable keyboard and he played for his care team. Within a couple of weeks, he was back to playing the piano at Rubino’s Ristorante in Rocklin and enjoying his usual activities.
