Residents
The CPMC Psychiatry Residency Training Program draws residents from around the United States, who embody a vibrantly diverse community of health care professionals well-suited to care for the equally diverse patient population of San Francisco’s Bay Area. After residency, our graduates pursue a variety of career paths. This includes specialty fellowships, academic appointments at university-based hospitals, private- and community-based hospital systems, private practice groups, and specialty services such as correctional psychiatry in the State of California prison system, psycho-oncology, and outpatient substance use disorders treatment. Many graduates have remained involved with the Department of Psychiatry after completion of their training, with several eventually joining our core faculty.
