A Message From Our Program Director
Dear Residency Candidate,

Your interest in our OBGYN residency program is much appreciated, and I am writing on behalf of the staff and administration of Sutter Roseville Medical Center to express our gratitude. Our goal is to ensure that our residents are well-prepared to practice obstetrics and gynecology independently by offering them a stimulating academic and clinical learning environment. Sutter Health's OBGYN residency program shares this goal, and it will strive to improve community health by providing compassionate, high-quality treatment to those in need.
Our OBGYN residents will learn the ropes from practicing doctors who are also qualified by the board and have years of experience in the classroom. The purpose of these committed physicians is to improve surgical procedures throughout the careers of their residents by mentoring them and encouraging a thirst for knowledge. As a faculty, we are committed to preparing residents to be surgical leaders who put patients first and who use cutting-edge research and technology to improve healthcare.
Residents will gain practical experience and insight into OBGYN and its subspecialties through the high patient volume and unique cases at Sutter Roseville Medical Center.
Clinical rotations for residents will be in ambulatory outpatient care, gynecology, internal medicine, obstetrics/labor and delivery, urogynecology, emergency department, family planning, gynecologic oncology, ultrasound, and reproductive endocrinology and infertility at Sutter Roseville Medical Center and Sutter Medical Center, Sacramento. Addiction Medicine, Maternal-Fetal Medicine, Female Pelvic Medicine, and Reconstructive Surgery are some of the electives that students may choose from. A lot is happening right now at Sutter Health and in the surrounding Sacramento area when it comes to OBGYN education.
Feel free to ask us anything regarding the program. If you would like additional information, please contact Carolyn Stutsman, who is our program coordinator. Thank you for considering our program once again. Our entire faculty is grateful for your interest. I am eagerly anticipating our meeting.
Sincerely,
William M. Gilbert, MD
