Jonathan K Wong, M.D.

I was born and raised in the Bay Area, even staying in the same house and seeing the same pediatrician throughout my childhood. After high school, I wanted to explore the East Coast, attended Lehigh, a small liberal arts university about an hour from Philadelphia. I went to medical school at Drexel University College of Medicine in Philadelphia before returning to the Bay Area for residency. I was drawn to Children's Hospital and Research Center Oakland, now UCSF Benioff Children's Hospital Oakland, for its commitment to the community; there I witnessed the resiliency of children and their families.

I have found the most fulfilling aspect of pediatrics is the longitudinal care for children. Being able to care for children and partner with their families through the stages of their development has been extremely rewarding. I believe that childhood is the basis for many experiences and decisions in adolescence, young adulthood, and beyond. A strong physician/patient relationship with open communication allows for the most efficacious patient care. I hope to provide you and your child with the tools necessary to reach his or her full potential.
