Akilesh Palanisamy, M.D.

Dr. Palanisamy practices integrative medicine, blending evidence-based conventional medicine with complementary approaches, including functional medicine and Ayurveda. His goal is to help patients achieve optimal health by addressing the root causes of illness and supporting overall well-being through a comprehensive, personalized approach to care.

Dr. Akil Palanisamy is a Harvard-trained physician who practices integrative medicine, combining conventional medical expertise with holistic approaches, including functional medicine and Ayurveda. He graduated magna cum laude from Harvard University with a Bachelor of Arts in biochemical sciences and earned his medical degree from the University of California, San Francisco. He completed his family medicine residency at Stanford University, followed by a fellowship in integrative medicine with Dr. Andrew Weil at the University of Arizona, and received certification in mind-body medicine from the Georgetown University Center. Dr. Palanisamy serves as Department Chair for Integrative Medicine at the Sutter Health Institute for Health and Healing and is the institute's Physician Director for Community Education, where he leads educational programs and initiatives.
