Alan T. Kawaguchi, M.D.

Dr. Kawaguchi believes that while research and evidence-based medicine provide an important framework for treatment, every patient is unique. He applies proven medical principles while tailoring care to each individual's specific needs, goals, and circumstances to ensure personalized and effective treatment.

Dr. Alan T. Kawaguchi is a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, the Orthopaedic Trauma Association, AO Faculty, the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery Board of Examiners, the California Orthopaedic Association, the California Medical Association, the San Joaquin Medical Society, and the Japanese American Medical Association. His professional interests include MAKO robotic-assisted partial knee replacement, total knee replacement, and total hip replacement surgery, as well as outpatient joint replacement surgery and knee arthroscopy, including ACL reconstruction.

Outside of Medicine, Dr. Kawaguchi enjoys skiing, playing pickleball, and watching basketball, baseball, and football. He also enjoys listening to 1980s music, particularly The Rolling Stones and Queen, and has a personal interest in Japanese Buddhism and Japanese folk tales.
