Erin M. Gutierrez, M.D.

Dr. Gutierrez sees her role as a pediatrician as teaming up with children and families to help promote healthy and happy lives.

At well-child visits, she focuses on preventing illness with vaccines, discusses expected changes tied to developing skills, and supports healthy habits. These visits also let her build relationships with families and address any questions they have.

Being there to support families and children brings her joy—both to celebrate successes and to be there when challenges arise. She wants to be a trusted person whom patients can come to for advice about any health topic. She has a special interest in early childhood development and managing chronic conditions in children and adolescents.

Dr. Gutierrez grew up in Southern California and moved to the Bay Area in 2008 to start her residency at Children's Hospital Oakland (now known as UCSF Benioff Children's Hospital Oakland). The Bay Area quickly felt like home. She enjoys exploring the local hills, camping and backpacking in the mountains of California, and visiting the coastal tide pools.

Cooking and sharing a meal with family and friends is her favorite way to connect. She is a novice at watercolor, sewing, and playing the cello, and hopes to find time to continue working on these creative interests. She lives in the East Bay with her husband and their two cats.
