Maria d. Reyes, M.D.

Dr. Fátima Reyes is a gynecologic oncologist trained at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, Harvard Medical School. She completed her medical training in the Department of Obstetrics, Gynecology, and Reproductive Sciences at the University of California, San Francisco, and at the Keck School of Medicine of the University of Southern California.

Dr. Reyes provides comprehensive cancer care in both English and Spanish, specializing in the treatment of patients with ovarian, uterine, cervical, and vulvar cancers. Her clinical approach integrates evidence-based therapies with holistic, personalized care tailored to each patient’s goals. She is dedicated to excellence in surgical care and the implementation of enhanced recovery after surgery (ERAS) principles. She works collaboratively with other surgical specialties, palliative care, and a dedicated team of nurses and staff to deliver the highest quality, patient-centered cancer care.

Her research interests include language access, palliative care, health equity, and financial toxicity, with a focus on reducing barriers to cancer care. She is particularly interested in improving palliative and hospice care delivery to enhance quality of life for patients and their caregivers—both during active cancer treatment and at the end of life. She also studies how social determinants of health and communication barriers influence cancer outcomes and seeks to develop interventions that promote equitable, culturally responsive care.

Beyond her clinical and research work, Dr. Reyes is actively involved in community outreach and patient education and is passionate about mentoring the next generation of physicians through scholarship and mentorship programs.
