Pamela N Peters, M.D.

Dr. Peters grew up in the Bay Area, so caring for patients here feels like coming full circle. It is a privilege for her to be part of the Sutter East Bay Medical Group and to serve the community that shaped her.

Her path to gynecologic oncology began in an ovarian cancer research lab at the University of Chicago. Initially drawn to the field by the science, she became certain it was the right career when she began caring for patients. A diagnosis of gynecologic cancer is often one of the most stressful and vulnerable moments in a person’s life, and she values the opportunity to build trust and long-term relationships as she and her patients navigate treatment and survivorship together. She specializes in complex minimally invasive and open surgeries, as well as the administration of cancer treatments such as chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and targeted therapy. Her goal is to ensure patients feel informed and empowered throughout every part of their care.

Beyond the operating room, she works with the Surgical Data Science Collective to advance the use of AI in improving surgical skills and outcomes. She is also passionate about healthcare reform and advocates for health equity through Physicians for a National Health Program.

Outside of work, she enjoys running, cooking, and exploring Bay Area trails, restaurants, and wineries with her husband, Jake, and their dog, Henry.
