Philosophy of care

As a palliative medicine physician I focus on symptoms, quality of life, and goals of care discussions for people with serious illnesses. It is true that I am often speaking about illness and decline with patients and their loved ones. Yes and - once we face the realities of a serious illness diagnosis – the conversations more often than not become about what matters most to each person as they go about the business of living each day to its fullest.
