About Me

Philosophy of Care

Thank you for viewing my webpage. I appreciate the opportunity to introduce myself and share both my approach and philosophy for my practice.

I was born and raised in San Francisco. I attended the University of California Davis with a major in Neurobiology, Physiology and Behavior and a minor in Child Development. After graduation, I worked for a dermatologist for a couple of years before attending medical school at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York. I returned to the Bay Area to complete my pediatric residency at Children's Hospital Oakland. Since then, I have worked in several community health clinics and private practices before joining PAMF in 2009.

In my free time, I travel to China as much as possible to volunteer at a foster home for orphans. There, I have had the responsibility of both providing medical care and educating staff members to do more with what they have. But more importantly, I have had the immensely rewarding opportunity to be a part of the lives of many amazing children. Similarly, it is both an honor and joy for me as a pediatrician to help your children stay healthy, watch them grow and share their many life experiences.

My approach as a physician can be summarized by a statement I wrote in my medical school essay, which is still relevant to my practice of medicine today. A college professor once said: "There are three types of people: those that work with their hands, those that work with their hands and minds, and those that work with their hands, minds and hearts. Which one will you be?" Everyday, I strive to be the third type of person. My goal for each patient visit is to provide excellent medical care, but also to do so with compassion.

My philosophy for caring for your child is one of partnership. My job as a physician is to provide you with the information you need to make informed decisions. To do this, I will use my medical knowledge and clinical skills to guide you, but I believe the best decisions for your child will be made when we work as a team. Consider me your copilot.

To accommodate your busy schedule, I am available in clinic four days a week, with after school and late afternoon appointments as well as one Saturday a month. I look forward to partnering with you and your family to provide the best care possible.
