Elisabeth P. Griffinger-Guidi, CNM

Born at Alta Bates Ashby and raised in the east bay, Ellie maintains a deep connection to the community she serves. She is passionate about educating and empowering women in decisions around their health and well-being. Her goal is for her patients to feel informed, confident, and supported as they transition through various stages of life.

After more than a decade leading her own community-based midwifery practice, she joined Sutter. Here she continues her commitment to personalized, relationship-centered care. She especially values meeting patients at the threshold of parenthood and supporting them through one of life’s most meaningful experiences: the birth of their child. At Sutter, Ellie offers full scope midwifery care which includes not just care in pregnancy, but teenage healthcare, birth control counsoling and support through menopause and post menopausal care.

She is deeply committed to optimizing women’s health by providing informed options and education for each patient.

She enjoys teaching particularly in Sutter’s Community of Care programs which foster education, connection, and community among patients.

Outside of work, Ellie enjoys cooking and hosting gatherings for friends and family. She is a proud mother of three children, all born with the support of midwives—an experience that continues to shape and inspire her approach to care.
