Martina H. Chwascinska-Szarek, CNM

Martina is dedicated to applying trauma informed care to every aspect of reproductive and gynecological care. This includes thorough counseling about the pros and cons of any intervention or exam to ensure true informed consent, offering the opportunity to self-insert a speculum or use a mirror during a visit, or creating opportunities for gynecologic care, labor, and birth to feel empowering.

Martina has been involved in the local midwifery community, previously serving as a regional state representative for the California Nurse Midwifery Association as well as a CNMA chapter president.

Outside of Medicine, Martina is a foodie and an avid traveler. She is rediscovering her love of photography at the Berkeley Art Studio night classes.
