Notkin Family Breast Cancer Recovery Program

Navigating breast cancer care is overwhelming.

The stress begins even before diagnosis. When a woman is first referred for a biopsy of a suspicious mass in her breast, the worry immediately sets in for her and her loved ones as they face many questions and what-if scenarios.

This life-changing program has helped more than 30,000 women over the past 20 years.

Drawing on their own experiences caring for loved ones with breast cancer, the Notkin Family generously launched a program designed to guide patients through this often-overwhelming process.

The Notkin Family Breast Cancer Recovery Program has helped tens of thousands of women since its inception, becoming a model for excellence in patient navigation at Sutter Health’s CPMC.

Philanthropic funding enables the Notkin Program to equip patients with the knowledge and skills they need to handle every aspect of the breast cancer experience—completely free of charge—from their initial diagnosis through survivorship.

The Notkin Family Breast Cancer Recovery Program offers breast cancer patients comprehensive support—including nurse navigation, individual and group counseling, nutrition guidance and referrals for genetic testing— to help women and their families throughout diagnosis, treatment, and recovery.
