Support Navigating Cancer

Cancer patient navigators can begin supporting you before a cancer diagnosis is confirmed. They serve as a single point of contact, helping you understand the diagnostic process, coordinate care and access resources from the moment cancer is suspected through treatment and recovery.

  • They offer guidance, education, support and case management to help you navigate each step with greater confidence and less stress.
  • Your navigator can help you and your family:
  • Access support groups, integrative therapies and community resources
  • Coordinate care, keep track of medical appointments, attend appointments with you and help arrange transportation when needed
  • Manage financial concerns related to care and connect you with health coverage and assistance programs
  • Understand testing, procedures and next steps while you are undergoing evaluation for a possible cancer diagnosis

Many of our patient navigators are registered nurses with specialty knowledge and certification in cancer care. They can assist with:

  • Nutritional support during treatment
  • Explaining diagnostic tests, results and treatment options in simple, easy-to-understand terms
  • Exploring the benefits and considerations of personalized treatment options
  • Evaluating and discussing clinical trials
  • Preparing for surgical and nonsurgical treatments, such as chemotherapy
  • Understanding how to manage recovery at home after surgery or treatment
