Discover how they can help you and your baby thrive.

September 26, 2024

Breastfeeding can be tough. Remember, this is a learning experience for you and your newborn! It takes practice to figure out latching, hunger cues and more. A lactation consultant offers support for new moms with questions about milk supply, positioning and more. Make an appointment if you need help with any of these issues:

  • Advice for working mothers on continuing breastfeeding after returning to work and planning a daily routine
  • Breastfeeding challenges related to having twins, premature infants, slow weight gain or if you've had breast surgery
  • Concerns about your baby's output (urine and stools)
  • Guidance if you're using a nipple shield or alternative feeding methods (cup feeding, a supplemental nursing system or SNS, finger feeding, bottle feeding
  • If you feel your milk hasn't increased by day four
  • If your baby isn't feeding 8 to 12 times in 24 hours
  • Issues with positioning, latch and engorgement
  • Tips on the best nursing bras and clothing for discreet and comfortable breastfeeding
  • Treating sore nipples
  • When your baby sleeps on the breast, isn't suckling well and seems hungry each time you take them off

Remember, you're not alone on this journey. Reach out when you need help.
