Partial Hospitalization and Intensive Outpatient Care

If moderate to severe mental health issues are affecting your life, a partial hospitalization program and intensive outpatient care might be what you need to jump-start your recovery.

Why Choose Sutter?

Experience the benefits of an intensive therapy program while continuing to live at home. These types of programs are a great alternative to full hospitalization if you don’t need 24-hour care. It can also be a helpful transition when you’re leaving the hospital but you’re not ready to return to everyday life.

Through our virtual and in-person intensive outpatient programs, we offer a safe, supportive space along with tools to help manage your symptoms and stressors. These programs include a virtual perinatal intensive outpatient option for new parents experiencing emotional or psychological challenges. You'll build toward recovery through weekly, one-on-one meetings with a psychiatrist.

With partial hospitalization, you’ll receive the same evaluation and diagnostic services as outpatients, spending five to six hours each weekday in the hospital and returning home in the evenings. You'll meet one-on-one with a psychiatrist, in addition to participating in group therapy. This program is designed to support your recovery and help you grow confidence and independence.
