Why Choose Sutter?

An inpatient hospital stay is the most intensive of mental health care. It’s designed to support anyone facing severe mental health issues, acute psychiatric symptoms or thoughts of self-harm or harming others. If other programs aren’t working, a short-term inpatient stay may be helpful.

We understand that being hospitalized for a mental health condition can be scary for both patients and their families. Our child and adolescent programs focus on developmental challenges at school and family dynamics. Our adult program is designed to help you resolve an immediate crisis, enhance self-confidence and learn new skills for dealing with life's challenges.

Once admitted, you'll receive a thorough mental and physical health evaluation and then your doctor will work with you to develop a comprehensive treatment plan. The plan may include different types of therapeutic counseling, including family, group or individual sessions. We'll also work with your family members to help them understand your condition and what they can do to help. Rest assured, our goal is to stabilize your condition and help you move to a less intensive level of care as soon as possible.
