    Nationally Recognized Kidney Transplant Teams

Dealing with end-stage renal disease involves a lot of decisions, including the complex but exciting possibility of kidney transplant. If you’re a potential transplant recipient, you want to make an informed choice that’s right for you.

Since 1969, pioneering surgical teams at California Pacific Medical Center have performed more than 4,000 kidney transplants and now earn the top spot nationally for risk-adjusted survival rates. Thanks in part to the continued generosity of organ donors, we help more than 200 people each year to achieve a dialysis-free life through a new kidney or simultaneous kidney-pancreas transplant.

CPMC’s Kidney and Pancreas Transplant Program commits to providing you, your family and primary physician personalized attention and education. Transplantation is not an isolated surgical procedure, but part of a continuum of medical care for your end-stage renal disease, so we’ll be with you every step of the way.

Learn what to expect both before and after surgery, or consider scheduling a kidney transplant evaluation  at one of our convenient outreach clinics across Northern California and Nevada.

    Kidney Disease Research

    Sutter Health Kidney Disease Research
Your two kidneys cleanse your blood, filtering out the waste and extra water to make urine. Damaged kidneys are the leading cause of organ transplants worldwide. Many things can damage kidneys – high blood pressure, diabetes, medicines, injuries and genetic problems. Research into ways to treat and prevent kidney disease is critical to improving quality of life and reducing the need for transplants.
