The SEBMF team offers both outpatient and inpatient care, seeing nearly 25,000 people a year. We work as neuro-hospitalists, providing nearly all the neurologic care at Alta Bates Summit Medical Center and offering on-call emergency department consults 24 hours a day. We also practice at Eden Medical Center and California Pacific Medical Center and collaborate with a team of neurosurgeons in the East Bay to bring you state-of-the-art neurodiagnostics and surgical services.
Multiple Sclerosis Center
We’re especially known for our multiple sclerosis (MS) program. More than 1,000 people a year come to our MS center from all over northern California to receive care. Our interdisciplinary team-based care, combined with our knowledgebase, performance record and research studies, make us a nationally-recognized center for MS care in the Bay Area.
Clinical Research
Clinical research is an integral part of our practice. Neurologists at SEBMF are extensively involved in neurological studies, and we’ve been instrumental in the development and implementation of a number of treatment protocols and care standards at our affiliated hospitals. We also collaborate with many industry sponsors and academic institutions, including University of California Berkeley, University of California San Francisco and University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center.
Research activities include treatment of multiple sclerosis, as well as many other neurological disorders. If you choose to participate in these studies, you may gain access to cutting-edge treatment that might not otherwise be available, as well as the opportunity to contribute to the advances in neuroscience.
With an integrated network, our specialists can connect you with the care you need no matter where you're located. Our facilities are located conveniently across Northern California, giving you access to some of the most advanced neurological treatments available. We are constantly pushing the next generation of our neurological care with clinical trials.
The Sutter Health network is a leader in neurological care. Our neuroscience institutes in both the Bay Area and Sacramento/Central Valley are leaders in advanced neurological care in Northern California.
