Comprehensive Psychiatry Training
A dedicated faculty and diverse clinical experiences provide a comprehensive and individualized residency in a prestigious healthcare system. Our rich curriculum spans a wide range of psychiatry treatments, blending psychotherapy, pharmacotherapy and subspecialties for a well-rounded training experience.
Work primarily in the California Pacific Medical Center Davies and Van Ness campus hospital environments. Here, you’ll get hands-on experience with inpatient and outpatient mental health care, emergency treatment and consult liaison services. Close mentorship and our dedication to the continuity of care will help you thrive in an environment that values academic rigor and personal growth.

Mentoring Across Specialties
Our program is known for individualized attention and mentorship from an enthusiastic and dedicated core faculty. The skilled clinical attending staff here includes experts in many psychotherapeutic approaches and specialties, including pharmacotherapy.


Extensive Clinical Experiences
Learn through hands-on experience across a wide range of clinical settings including interventional psychiatry, correctional psychiatry at San Quentin State Prison and primary care medicine at the San Francisco Free Clinic. You’ll work and learn alongside peers from other medical services, post-doctoral psychology fellows and medical students.

Didactics and Guidance
A well-rounded didactic curriculum complements clinical rotations with seminars, conferences and individualized supervision, providing a broad perspective on psychiatry theories and practices. Your work and studies will be guided by dedicated supervisors for your caseload, psychotherapy and child psychiatry. In later years of training, you’ll receive additional supervision following specific courses in cognitive behavioral therapy and psychotherapy termination.
