The Sutter Roseville Medical Center Surgery Residency Program is a rigorous, five-year academic and clinical experience dedicated to preparing skilled, compassionate surgeons.

Shape Your Future in Surgery
Prepare for independent practice—while learning a wide array of surgical specialties—with training under board-certified physicians in advanced medical facilities, including a high-volume Level II trauma center. Our high volume of complex cases and supportive environment develop your skills to deliver safe, high-quality surgical care. By the end of the program, you’ll be equipped with the knowledge, experience and confidence to deliver patient-centered surgical care in a wide range of disciplines.
Employ the latest research and technology as you rotate through multiple clinical sites including Sutter Roseville Medical Center, Sutter Medical Center Sacramento, UC Davis Medical Center and Shriners Hospital for Children. Your hands-on experience under the mentorship of renowned physicians will include trauma surgery, minimally invasive surgery, surgical oncology, pediatric surgery, thoracic surgery, head and neck surgery, urology, vascular surgery, cardiac surgery, colorectal surgery, transplant and hepatobiliary surgery, pediatric surgery, burn surgery, orthopedic surgery, surgical critical care and endoscopy.

A broad didactic curriculum will complement your clinical experience including Morbidity and Mortality (M&M) Conferences, Basic Science Conferences, Clinical Conferences, Grand Rounds, Journal Club and our Simulation Lab.
