How to Apply
Application Process
The PGY2 Emergency Medicine Pharmacy Program accepts applications through the Pharmacy Online Application Service (PhORCAS) and participates in the ASHP Resident Matching Program (ASHP Match). Our ASHP code is 01129. Applications are due January 5, 2025. There is one position available annually.
Eligibility
- U.S. citizen, permanent resident, or possess valid authorization to work in the U.S.
- Graduate of an Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE)-accredited Doctor of Pharmacy degree program
- Graduate of an ASHP-accredited PGY1 acute care residency program
- Licensed or eligible for pharmacist licensure in California
- If not already licensed, must obtain California pharmacist license within 120 days from the start of the PGY2 residency year
Application Requirements
- Completed PhORCAS Application which includes the following:
- Letter of intent describing your career goals, interest in emergency medicine, highlights important aspects of your personal and professional background, and describes your reason(s) for applying to the PGY2 Emergency Medicine Pharmacy Program at SRMC
- Curriculum vitae
- Three letters of recommendation (at least two of which must be from student and PGY1 residency rotation preceptors, preferably in emergency medicine and/or critical care)
- Official academic transcript from your pharmacy school
The program faculty will begin reviewing files through PhORCAS as soon as the files are opened for review. Invitations to interview will be sent out shortly thereafter. All application requirements must be submitted via PhORCAS by the deadline to be considered for an interview.
