Education Highlights
Primarily responsible for covering cases in the OR, the fellow will manage the Acute Care Orthopaedic Service (ACOS) at SRMC on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Fridays. The fellow will be backed up by a core trauma faculty at all times. On Tuesdays, the fellow will divide time between covering cases with Dr. Paul Gregory at MSJMC and seeing postoperative patients in the trauma clinic at SRMC. Priority goes to covering pelvis and acetabular cases.
The fellow will take primary call at SRMC on Thursdays (with the attending as back-up call), and cover one weekend call (Friday-Sunday) at SRMC every 3 weeks.
The fellow will lead the weekly fracture conference every Monday at 0630 and attend the SRMC trauma peer review conference every 1st Tuesday of the month. Journal club will be held every 1-2 months.
Courses/meetings during the fellowship year will be covered up to a certain amount – typically the OTA meeting, a pelvic dissection course, and the OTA Fellows course.
Business contract: One-year as an employee physician with OTSNC, fully credentialed at SRMC and MSJMC
Salary: $150,000
