About the Fellowship Program

Mission

The Santa Rosa Integrative Family Medicine Fellowship program is committed to training physicians to deliver healing-oriented medicine that addresses the whole person — mind, body, and soul — incorporating evidence-based lifestyle, allopathic and other therapeutic modalities to promote inclusion and service to communities with limited access.

History

The Integrative Medicine Fellowship at Sutter Santa Rosa Family Medicine Residency program started in 2008 with our graduate fellows going on to work in many diverse practice settings, often in positions of leadership.  We are proud to be the birthplace of the Integrative Medicine for the Underserved movement, which believes in bringing Integrative Medicine and health to all people and honors that many of its roots came from traditional practices.  Our fellows also serve as junior family medicine faculty attendings and see patients in our FQHC clinic base.

Values

  • Balance: We strive to balance professional passion with meaningful self-care.

  • Openness: We recognize that no single system holds all the answers.
  • Playfulness: We embrace the motivational and healing power of humor and play.
  • Wellness: We live, model and teach it every day.

  • Community Connection: We meet the needs of the populations we serve with purpose and compassion.
  • Effective Care: We deliver care that makes a real difference in patients’ lives.
