Financial Assistance
Emergency Financial Assistance: If you’re mandatorily evacuated due to flood, wildfire or storm related natural disasters, you’re eligible to apply for emergency financial assistance. This can help cover expenses for emergency housing, food, clothing and other essentials.
Disaster Recovery Pay: Get up to 40 hours of pay (based on FTE status) when your Sutter worksite facility is closed due to mandatory evacuation. Please note, this doesn’t apply to remote workers.
Sutter Health Philanthropic Disaster Relief Fund: If you’ve been approved for emergency financial assistance and need extra support, this fund is available in certain circumstances to provide additional financial aid as you recover from a natural disaster.
Additional Resources and Information
Emergency Lodging: If you’re a front-line worker and you’ve been displaced from your home due to a mandatory evacuation, you may be eligible for emergency lodging. The maximum lodging allowance is one room for up to four nights (five days), not to exceed $200 per day. These expenses must be approved in advance by your department manager and will be charged to the department through the expense reimbursement process.

As the fires in Northern California continue, the air quality worsens. When air pollution is bad, it can irritate your eyes, nose and throat, cause shortness of breath, and aggravate asthma and other respiratory conditions.
- Stay safe by following these precautions when air quality is low: Hydrate with a minimum of 8 ounces of water, 8-10 times daily.
- Stay indoors, if possible.
- Use air conditioning, if available.
- Use your maintenance puffers or inhalers if you have asthma, emphysema or other respiratory diseases. Carry your rescue puffer/inhaler if you leave home.
