Rita O Kwan-Feinberg, M.D., MPH, FACS

The practice of surgery is a science and an art. I believe in providing evidence-based surgical care with compassion and personalization for each of my patients. I am passionate about providing excellent surgical care for a variety of challenging surgical diseases. As a result of following my professional passions, I have a unique surgical career as a breast cancer surgeon and robotic surgeon. I enjoy the journey I take with each of my breast cancer patients from diagnosis, to comprehensive treatment including oncoplastic breast surgery, and ultimately towards survivorship. I also enjoy the technical challenges and rewards of complex robotic surgery to treat abdominal surgical diseases. I provide emergency surgical care to my community at Alta Bates Summit Medical Center for diseases such as appendicitis, bowel obstructions, cholecystitis, and bowel perforations.

I embrace the complexities and challenges of my career as a surgeon. I also enjoy spending time with my amazing husband and two sons. We love our time as a family cooking, traveling, raising our urban chickens, and enjoying all life has to offer.
