Korina A Tanner, M.D.

Dr. Tanner takes the time to listen and understand the full picture of your health. Her approach emphasizes nutrition, exercise, sleep and whole-person wellness, offering thoughtful guidance and straightforward advice to help you and your family feel your best.

Dr. Tanner and her husband have three children. She enjoys time on her ranch with her family and stays active through horseback riding, pontoon boating and doing CrossFit.

With more than 25 years in family medicine, Dr. Tanner’s experience includes prenatal care and delivering babies, child wellness, sports medicine and hormone optimization. She provides comprehensive primary care for patients across all stages of life.

Dr. Tanner earned her undergraduate degree in biology at Santa Clara University in 1993 and received her Doctor of Medicine from Creighton University Medical School in 1997. She completed her family practice residency at the University of Washington’s Valley Medical Center in 2000. Following residency, she practiced family medicine in Washington for more than 15 years, including serving as Regional Medical Direct for the Franciscan Medical Group.

In 2017, Dr. Tanner returned to the Sacramento region and joined Sutter Medical Group, where she has served as an Urgent Care Medical Director and Urgent Care doctor. She has spent more than a decade caring for patients at Sutter Urgent Care in Folsom.

A Citrus Heights native, Dr. Tanner values the small-town feel of El Dorado Hills. Her children have attended local schools and have been very active in youth sports. Deeply rooted in the community, she is committed to caring for patients and families throughout the region
