Savannah L. Schewe, M.D.

Dr. Schewe’s philosophy of care centers on understanding the whole you — your diet, exercise, sleep, stress and social well-being. She takes the time to listen so you are seen and heard. Passionate about helping you and your family build healthy habits, she partners with you to create a personalized plan for everyone’s best health.

Dr. Schewe enjoys camping with her husband and three young children at Union Valley Reservoir, skiing Sierra-at-Tahoe, hiking and cooking meals with fresh produce harvested from her garden.

Trained in family medicine through the Sutter Health Family Medicine Residency Program, Dr. Schewe cares for patients of all ages, from prenatal care and well-child checkups to adults, including supporting older adults with maintaining muscle and bone health.

Dr. Schewe earned her undergraduate degree in molecular and cell biology at University of California, Berkeley in 2010, followed by a post-baccalaureate program at California State University-East Bay in 2015. She received her Doctor of Medicine from the University of California, Davis School of Medicine in 2020. After completing her residency with the  Sutter Health Family Medicine Residency Program, she most recently practiced as a primary care doctor for the El Dorado Community Health Center in her hometown of Placerville.

Committed to community health, Dr. Schewe has volunteered with mobile medical units serving hard-to-reach populations and participated in health fairs at local schools to promote health education for children and teenagers. Through Mammoth Medical Missions she has also volunteered on surgical missions in Chiapas, Mexico and provided medical relief following a hurricane in Fiji.
