Rita O. Kwan-Feinberg, M.D., MPH, FACS

She believes surgery is both a science and an art and is committed to providing evidence-based surgical care with compassion, personalization, and respect for each patient's individual journey. As both a breast cancer surgeon and robotic surgeon, she tailors treatment plans to align with each patient's goals and values while offering advanced surgical options. She values the relationships she builds with her patients and considers it a privilege to support them from diagnosis through treatment and survivorship. Her approach also embraces whole-person healing and incorporates principles of integrative medicine when appropriate.

Serves as Executive Director of the Sutter Robotic Surgery Program and Co-Medical Director of the Carol Ann Read Breast Health Center. She is a past Chief of Staff at Alta Bates Summit Medical Center, past President of the East Bay Surgical Society, a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, and a member of the American Society of Breast Surgeons, Society of American Gastrointestinal and Endoscopic Surgeons, Society for Surgery of the Alimentary Tract, Association of Women Surgeons, East Bay Surgical Society, and San Francisco Surgical Society.

Outside of Medicine, she enjoys spending time with her husband and two sons, cooking, traveling, attending ballet performances, and cheering on the San Jose Sharks. She also enjoys raising urban chickens and is a proud LGBTQ+ ally.
