Than Nguyen, D.O.

Dr. Nguyen believes in shared decision-making with patient education and a focus on overall patient-centered outcomes. His approach to medicine is that the entire body is interconnected as a self-regulating unit. As a gastroenterologist, he also emphasizes dietary and lifestyle changes, in addition to innovative procedures and medicines, to ensure the best outcomes.

Growing up in the Central Valley of California, Dr. Nguyen saw the struggles of being part of a medically underserved community. He received a minor in Spanish during his undergraduate time at UC Davis and went to Guatemala for a medical mission trip during his medical training. He was also a UC Davis Prep Médico preceptor, a program that encourages college students to pursue medicine and service to Latinx communities.

Outside of Medicine, Dr. Nguyen enjoys running for participation medals, badminton, hiking, traveling, video games, and, most often, eating.
