It's not easy to focus on a job when you’re concerned about finding the right care for your children or elderly family members. Training a new pet, adopting a child, getting out of debt, planning for retirement or thinking about other family issues can be emotionally distressing and distracting. 

If you become aware that one of your employees has needs in these areas, remind them about the Sutter Employee Assistance Program. We provide comprehensive assessments that enable us to locate the right resource to meet your employees' specific needs. We provide referrals to an extensive network of professionals with experience in a variety of common family matters.

Childcare

We offer consulting on childcare and parenting issues, including resources for new parents. We can provide referrals for services including:

• Infant centers
• Preschools
• Before and after school care
• Summer programs
• Emergency or back-up care
• Care for sick children

• Overnight or swing shift resources
• Care for special needs children

Adult Care

Our EAP program provides consulting on elder care and disabled adult issues, as well as relocation assistance. We offer referrals to care providers and support services including:

• In-home care
• Assisted living facilities
• Meal and nutrition programs
• Transportation
• Caregiver support

Pet Care

Our consulting and referral services are available for a variety of pet care needs including:

• Veterinarians
• Animal hospitals

Adoption Assistance

Adopting a child is an exciting process, but it can also be an overwhelming experience. We offer consulting services to help potential parents understand their adoption options, the adoption process and available educational resources. We provide referral services for helpful professionals, organizations and adoption topics including:

• Adoption support organizations
• Attorneys specializing in adoption
• Single parent adoptions
• Stepparent adoptions
• International adoptions
• Adopting special needs children

Selecting an Elementary or High School

Deciding what type of school program is best for your child can be challenging. We offer consultation services to help you select an appropriate school, whether it be a public school, private school or home schooling program. We provide education materials and referrals for:

• Elementary and secondary public or private schools
• After school programs
• Home school programs

Selecting a College

Whether your child is headed off to college or you’ve decided to embark on a new educational adventure, we can provide consultation services on the college process. We can provide information about the pros and cons of private colleges versus state universities, and information about master’s degree and MBA programs. We provide referrals for school services including:

• State or private colleges and universities
• Test preparation courses
• Financial aid
• Educational consultants

Financial Services

Each employee is entitled to a no-cost telephone consultation with a financial counselor. These services are provided by seasoned financial professionals and licensed CPAs. Telephone consultations are generally limited to 30 minutes to an hour per issue. Additional time will be billed at a preferred discount rate of 25 percent off the provider's normal fees. Topics include:

• Financial matters such as budgeting, debt consolidation and lease or purchase questions
• Consumer credit and financial counseling services, such as credit reports, bankruptcy and general financial issues
• Tax preparation and planning
• IRS matters
• Retirement and college planning
