Caring for Your Heart

To a great extent the health of your heart can determine the quality and length of your life. That’s why the Sutter Health network invests enormous resources into providing high-quality and compassionate heart and vascular care. Whether you’re looking for health education for preventing or managing cardiovascular problems or seeking help for an immediate concern, Sutter network specialists located throughout Northern California can help.

Sutter network specialists can also connect you with the care you need no matter where you're located. If the hospital closest to you doesn't offer the treatment you require, you can be referred to facilities across Northern California that do. You also have access to some of the most advanced treatments, procedures and surgeries available. We are constantly pushing the next generation of heart care with clinical trials offered in both the Bay Area and the Sacramento/Central Valley.

The Next Generation of Heart Care

Minimally invasive procedures to treat the valves and blood flow within the heart, such as TAVR, MitraClip™, TMVR, Watchman™and others like them, are the future of how cardiovascular surgeons can treat your heart.

Some advantages of minimally invasive procedures include:

  • Eliminates the risks related to open-heart surgery and the need for a heart-lung machine.
  • Generally only requires a small incision in your leg.
  • People generally leave the hospital the day after.
  • Quicker recovery times.
  • Reduces infection risk.

Sutter Health Electrophysiology Research

An ECG can reveal different arrhythmic conditions such as Bradycardia, Tachycardia, and Atrial Fibrillation.
