Rehabilitation Focused on You

If you’re recovering from a life-altering trauma, illness or stroke, Sutter Rehabilitation Institute, an inpatient rehabilitation facility in Roseville, offers intense, individualized care to help you regain your independence. Caring doctors, nurses, therapists and other rehabilitation specialists understand that you have unique needs and are here to help you recover physically, emotionally and socially.

Sutter Rehabilitation Institute is proud to have served our community since 2008.  During that time, more than 1000 patients a year have achieved outcomes that exceed state and national benchmarks.

During your stay, you work with our network of specialists to optimize your ability to care for yourself through one-on-one therapy and group treatment. We focus on everyday activities, including bathing, dressing, eating and transferring from one place to another such as from your bed to a wheelchair. If you can put weight on your feet, we also focus on walking and utilize an outdoor therapy area to practice on different types of terrain. We also offer up-to-date robotic rehabilitation technologies, including EksoNR™ exoskeleton and the ZeroG® body-weight support system. Your care team will discuss treatment goals at the start of your stay and will update your goals as you progress.

Sutter Rehabilitation Institute is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF) for adhering to the highest industry standards of excellence. We are accredited for comprehensive inpatient rehabilitation for adults and adolescents. This could include comprehensive orthopedic injuries and complex medical conditions. In addition, we are CARF accredited for:

  • Stroke rehabilitation
  • Brain injury rehabilitation (adults and adolescents)
  • Spinal cord rehabilitation
  • Amputation rehabilitation
  • Cancer Rehabilitation

Experienced occupational therapists, speech therapists, physical therapists, registered nurses, neuropsychologists and other skilled specialists work with you and your family through every aspect of your recovery at Sutter Rehabilitation Institute. We are proud that more than 30 percent of our nurses are certified rehabilitation registered nurses.

Our commitment to delivering state-of-the-art intensive rehabilitation care is evident through our patient outcomes. Outcome data proves that our patients do better than the average rehabilitation patient in our region, and even nationally, thanks to our comprehensive care.

To achieve such outcomes, we also offer unique therapy programs that allow you and your loved ones to heal on an emotional and social basis, including:

  • Neuropsychology
  • Recreation therapy

While most of our patients are adults, we treat adolescents as young as 17 years of age. Adolescents between 15-17 are considered on case by case basis. Our large private rooms allow parents to remain with their child, and therapies include age-appropriate activities to address the teenagers’ unique needs and interests.
