Cancer Patient Navigation Program
Patient navigation is essential in cancer care, helping patients manage complex information and decisions following a new diagnosis. At CPMC, dedicated Cancer Nurse Navigators like Alexandra Block provide continuous support from diagnosis through treatment and survivorship, guiding patients and families every step of the way.
Transforming Cancer Care Using CAR-T
Blood cancers like leukemia, lymphoma, and myeloma make up about 10% of new cancer cases and deaths each year. A promising new personalized treatment, CAR-T therapy, involves modifying a patient’s T cells to target and destroy their cancer cells when reintroduced into the body.
Melanoma Research
Thanks to donations to Ride-On for Melanoma Research, a patient suite at CPMC’s Van Ness Hospital was named in honor of Shawn Price on what would have been his 60th birthday, September 6, 2023. Together, we raised over $30,000 to support groundbreaking melanoma research led by Dr. Mohammed Kashani-Sabet and the care team, advancing new treatments for patients.
