The goal of the pediatric neuropsychology fellowship program is a commitment to advanced training within an integrated not-for-profit healthcare system in order to prepare trainees for the specialty role as a pediatric neuropsychologist in the emerging healthcare environment. More specifically, the trainee is guided to develop advanced practice competencies in pediatric neuropsychological assessment in preparation for function as a licensed psychologist in a comparable setting (e.g., neuropsychological consultation service). All trainees work toward achieving the same core set of competencies; subspecialty interests can vary especially in regards to research opportunities.

At the end of fellowship, trainees should be able to:

• Apply extensive knowledge as a scientist-practitioner to derive formulation of complex medical cases.
• Independently conduct neuropsychological assessment, from referral through feedback and deliver ethical and culturally-sensitive services to children with a diverse spectrum of medical, neurological, genetic, and neurodevelopmental conditions.
• Undertake consultation to patients and other health professionals on an independent basis.
• Demonstrate scholarly competence through presentation of research findings.
• Understand the organizational and administrative issues associated with the practice of pediatric neuropsychology in a hospital/medical setting.
• Be eligible for state licensure (pass national and state exams) and document supervised training experience aligned with requirements for board certification in clinical neuropsychology (e.g., ABCN, ABPdN, ABN).
