Sutter Medical Foundation
Pediatric Neuropsychology
The Pediatric Neuropsychology Fellowship program within the Neuroscience Division at Sutter Medical Foundation offers two full-time, two-year postdoctoral training positions. This structured program provides a collaborative learning experience, with a senior and junior fellow working side by side.

Advanced Training for Pediatric Neuropsychology
Our Pediatric Neuropsychology Fellowship is committed to providing advanced training within an integrated, not-for-profit healthcare system. As you work toward independent practice and licensure, you will engage with children who have a variety of medical, neurological, genetic and neurodevelopmental conditions, while developing your expertise in neuropsychological assessment and consultation.
With a focus on cultivating your individual skills and professional growth, we offer additional training opportunities in areas such as early developmental concerns (birth to age three), ADHD and autism diagnostics, craniofacial panel consultation, CNS tumor consultation, the epilepsy surgery program and more.
Prepare to confidently conduct independent neuropsychological assessments, provide consultations and apply scientific knowledge to complex medical cases. You will also be well-equipped for state licensure and board certification in clinical neuropsychology.

Supervision to Enhance Skills
Experienced neuropsychologists will guide you through every stage of the program — teaching, mentoring and offering ongoing feedback to enhance your professional development. You will spend at least two hours each week in one-on-one supervision with your primary supervisor and additional supervisors based on your cases. This close mentorship supports case management, professional growth, licensure preparation and a broader view of patient care.

Developing Core Competencies Through Clinical Work
As part of our team, Fellows provide neuropsychological evaluations and consultations for children of all ages, addressing a wide range of conditions such as brain tumors, pediatric cancers, epilepsy, traumatic brain injuries and genetic disorders. Engage in all aspects of the evaluation process, from clinical interviews to delivering feedback to families, as you collaborate with interdisciplinary teams throughout the hospital.

Expanding Knowledge Through Educational Experiences
In addition to hands-on clinical training, you will take part in various educational experiences. These include case presentations, seminars, journal clubs and participation in conferences, including epilepsy and the brain and spinal cord tumor board.
Research Opportunities
Dedicate 10% of your time to research, with options including participation in existing studies, conceptualizing new research and presenting results at conferences or in publications.
