Choose a Provider
Weeks 1-6
Once you get a positive pregnancy test, it's important to schedule your first OB/Gyn appointment as soon as possible — ideally around 8 weeks after your last period.
Your First Appointment
Weeks 7-12
At your first OB/Gyn appointment, your doctor will confirm your pregnancy, estimate your due date and review your medical history. You'll likely have a physical exam, lab tests and get important guidance on prenatal care.
Genetic Testing
Weeks 10-13
Non-invasive prenatal testing (NIPT) can be done through a blood test to screen for chromosomal conditions like Down syndrome, trisomy 18 and trisomy 13. Ask your doctor for more information.
Screening Ultrasound
Week 11-14
A nuchal translucency (NT) ultrasound is non-invasive (though often combined with a blood test) and assesses the risk of chromosomal conditions like Down syndrome.
